♥ 5 hidden reasons why i'm fatigued all the time

i just came across this section in the Dec 2008 issue of SHAPE magazine.

'' U slept a full 8 hours the night before, yet u're yawning an hour past breakfast. U can't help but feel lousy and lethargic. While it's easy to dismiss fatigue as a by-product of a stressful life, there may be a medical condition lurking beneath the surface.''

OMG this is just exactly the condition i'm in...

here's the 5 HIDDEN reasons for being fatigued all the time.

1. DEPRESSION

The sinking feeling caused by the dropped in chemical levels in the brain. Fatigue, whether mental or physical, is a common symptom of depression. Women have about 10-15% risk of developing depression and it's most common in pple in their late 20s and early 50s. It will reach the peak for those between 30 and 50. Work pressure, financial worries and maybe FYP experiences most stress.
One have to differentiate between sadness and depression. The latter happens for no reason and the gloomy mood can dominate a person's life for weeks. One key symptom: A person no longer find joy in things that usually perk them up no matter what they do. Look out for signs like tiredness, poor sleep, appetite loss and headaches.

Possibility of me falling in this category: 70-80% (i'm moody and grumpy for no reason recently)

2. DIABETES

When a person have diabetes, the lack of insulin prevents blood sugar from entering the cells to provide energy, hence the constant fatigue. Symptoms include: weight loss, thirst, frequent urination, blurring vision, numbness in the toes.

Possibility of me falling in this category: 60% (cuz i got a sweet tooth)

3. FIBROMYALGIA

Due to abnormalities in the central nervous system. Symptoms: pain, muscle soreness, aches, fatigue, sleep disturbance, sometimes numbness in hands and feet, poor concentration, abdominal pain and urgency to urinate.

Possibility of me falling in this category: >10%

4. CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME (CFS)

A disorder that causes a person to become so tired, he/she cannot perform daily tasks and this condition lasts for more than 6 months.

Possibility of me falling in this category: 0%

5. ANAEMIA

Heavy menstral cycles for eg, is a common cause of anaemia. Bleeding leads to a drop in haemoglobin, an iron rich protein that transports oxygen from the lungs to other parts of the body. When a person's body does not receive enough exygen, fatigue results. Can also cause by deficiencies in iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 or kidney disease.

Possibility of me falling in this category: >10%

so to conclude.. with my current grouchy self.. i'm going into depression???
