shall continue my mid sem trip.. hahaa..=)

so we took the last train from zurich and the stupid train delayed.. we only arrived at Munich an hour after midnight.. grrr.. the lucky thing was our hostel was near the train station.. phew~

Germany was so-so only.. cuz there's not much places for you to sight see.. there's more history than anything else. Sher was out the whole day wif her mum and ah ma, Zhijian, Huifen and Jieying went for this Hitler's tour while me and Yeiling went for the Free walk tour in Munich. hahaa.. all separated. =P

The Walk tour was rather interesting. it's the Sandeman's New Munich Free Tour. see that word FREE? hahaha.. well the tour is actually 3 and a half hrs long, with a tour guide attached to abt 20-30 peeps. The tour guides worked on a tip basis, so if we think we enjoyed the tour, we can tip them- any amt. =)

Hmm.. me and Yeiling wanted to go for this Dachau, Munich's Concentration Camp Memorial.. but too bad we could only choose one tour to go cuz we only had a day in Munich. So we chose the City Tour instead.. we thought we should know the basic history abt Munich first.. hahaha..

felt damn tired actuallly cuz i only slept for 5 hrs the night before.. after all the travelling.. it really drained my energy. plus my feet were kinda sore from all the walking. boo! so it's like you're tired and you have to walk and listen to history for almost 4 whole hrs.. more like a torture to me.. hahaha.. guessed the only thing i enjoyed was taking pictures.. =)

and then bad luck no. 1 struck me! i brought the wrong memory card! =( i used up the 2gb on my trip to old trafford and the swiss alps so i thought i still had my 512 mb one wif me... turned out i brought the 16mb card.. like wth can i take wof 16mb worth of memory.. grr.. so i had to borrow yeiling's memory card instead. My bad luck doesn't end there.. i lost one side of my adidas sunglass.. thanx to IT being detachable... sigh.. i hope i can get it replace when i'm back...

* this is our cute little tour guide.. hahaha.. i like his beard!



* this is the Glockenspiel.
It chimes and re-enacts 2 stories from the 16th century and if i remember correctly, there's 43 bells and 32 life sized figures in this structure. So the figures will actually move in a merry-go-round sequence and we'll be like watching a story from below. There's this part where a cooper dance was shown and our tour guide actually asked one of us to demonstrate.. hahaha.. so at the end of the 12-15 mins story, this golden bird will come out (like those in the cuckold clock) and chirp 3 times.
But the suay-est thing happened to us was that we couldn't hear the chimes.. cuz it was under construction. so all we saw was figures moving but no sound. oh we heard the bird though... so for that 15 mins we stood at the bottom watching the soundless act...

Anyway this structure is situated in Marienplatz, a common tourist spot and also common spot for all major carnivals like the octoberfest! =) too bad i missed it! argh by just 4 days? damn!



* i find this amazing! haha.. it's a map for the blind.



* my lunch! german white sausages called weisswurst. It's a traditional Bavarian sausage made from veal and bacon! the sauce tasted abit weird though.. sweet mustard! i never like mustard.. but the potato salad was good! yummy~



* the Viktualienmarket where u can find all lots of different food. Eg Cheese store, meat stores, olive stores.. hahha.. and look at yeiling wif that big lobster!



* We were brought to this beer garden where all who sits in that area must drink beer. hahaa.. and yes! people dun wait till night to drink, they drink whole day long! we were there at abt 11 plus in the afternoon and pple are drinking beer. my gosh.. and u know what.. beer is even cheaper than water! you pay like 2 Euros for 1 pint of beer.



* any Bayern Munich fans? hahaha..



* The guide then brought us to Hofbrauhaus, the world's famous beer hall! Was quite happening inside! lots of pple were drinking and there's this band playing their traditional music. and according to the guide, this place is fully packed during octoberfest. haa.. needless to say cuz even when there's no fest, the place is crowded.



* the six famous brands of beer in Germany, with the centre logo as the main logo representing all the brands.



* we passed by this chocz shop.. aren't they lovely?

The tourguide actually brought us to much more places like where Hitler was shot, the New Town Hall, and the Royal Residence.. but i can't really rmb which place belongs to which pictures.. hahahha.. all look the same to me. shall put it up on rockyou... see from there okies?
The whole tour was mainly abt the history of Munich, where Hitler and the Nazis took power and bla bla bla.. those who took history in sec 3 should roughly know abt it. yea.. so i shan't talk abt history here.. haa..

rockyou is quite cool right.. or am i just being sua-ku for not knowing abt this program. hahaha.. cuz i just found out abt it thru amelia's blog..

anyway.. after the whole walk tour.. me and yeiling decided to just shop ard instead of heading down to meet Huifen, Jieying and Zhijian at the Olympic Village. They went to visit Bayern Munich Stadium anyway.. haha.. so me and yeiling went hunting fer birks! and yep i bought a pair!! lalala~ was supposed to meet up for dinner but in the end something crop up and so me and yeling ate kebabs instead. haa.. was damn filling. Met the rest at the hostel and went to try some Munich beer.. not that bad afterall.. hehe..

We headed up to our rooms quite early cuz we had to catch the 7.30am train to Berlin.. tt's why i've said its so tiring to travel!! i can't stay in one place fer long... always on the run. haha..
